The biggest jump in MaxPreps' computer rankings for Indiana girls volleyball this week was made by Indianapolis Emmerich Manual (Indianapolis), which vaulted 20 positions to No. 380 out of 421 schools which play the sport in the Hoosier state.
Manual recorded a 3-1 victory over Marshall (Indianapolis) in the Class 3A sectional tournament opener before being blanked 3-0 by New Palestine. According to scores reported by coaches to MaxPreps, however, Manual is listed with only a 3-6 won-lost record for the entire season.
Close behind Manual with a 19-point advancement was Linton-Stockton (Linton), which moved up 19 points to No. 174 and raised its record to 19-14.
Tied with 18-point advancements were No. 151 Triton (Bourbon) and No. 192 Mooresville. Triton boosted its record to 14-8, while Mooresville is 10-16.
The tenth-highest move of 14 points was made by East Chicago Central (East Chicago), which is winless in 10 outings. The Cardinals are ranked No. 383 this week.
