It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Carson Colts had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 91-48 win over the Panthers at home. Carson's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Carson had a senior duo take command as Jacob Ortega scored 40 points and Ezekiel Harry scored 34 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ortega has scored at least a third of Carson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Curtis Sproull Jr., who scored seven points.
Carson's victory bumped their record up to 11-16. As for West Adams, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-17 record this season.
Carson will take on Huntington Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Carson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Huntington Park likes a good challenge. West Adams does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
