Baseball Recap: Muleshoe Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Muleshoe made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Slaton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the Muleshoe Mules' way against the Slaton Tigers on Monday as the Muleshoe Mules made off with a 14-6 win. Considering the Mules have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Muleshoe let Yahir Quezada and Julian Vargas run wild. Quezada got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Vargas scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Quezada is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Donovan Moreno, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Muleshoe is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.3 runs. Slaton is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Muleshoe will head out to face off against Dimmitt at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Slaton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Slaton Tigers face off against Littlefield Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
