Make it five blowout wins for the Leroy Bears this season. They blew past McIntosh 49-25. The victory was just what Leroy needed coming off of a 57-32 defeat in their prior game.
Leroy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makayla Payne, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chauncey Dixon, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Leroy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for McIntosh, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leroy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fruitdale at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. Fruitdale is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for McIntosh, they will head out on the road to challenge Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jackson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than McIntosh in Alabama (Jackson is ranked 42nd, while McIntosh is ranked 338th).
