Heights is 8-2 against the Huskies since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Heights Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Westbury Huskies at 1:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Heights suffered a rough 66-42 defeat at the hands of the Cardinals. While losing is never fun, Heights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 541st, while the Cardinals are ranked 69th).
Despite their defeat, Heights saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Joseph Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Conor Mccarthy was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 84-30, which was the final score in Westbury's tilt against the Cardinals on Tuesday. Westbury was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-15.
This is the second loss in a row for Heights and nudges their season record down to 13-16. As for Westbury, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-16.
Heights was able to grind out a solid victory over the Huskies when the teams last played back in January, winning 71-64. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
