If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Bellefonte. They will challenge Bishop Carroll on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Bellefonte don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Bellefonte had a rough outing against Penns Valley Area two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Bellefonte took their match against Central last Friday 21-12. Junior C.j. Funk and sophomore Ethan Rossman were among the main playmakers for Bellefonte as the former rushed for 101 yards and 1 touchdown and the latter picked up 100 yards on the ground and threw 2 TDs. This marked the 6th game in which Funk has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Bishop Carroll, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They suffered a grim 14-42 defeat to Penns Valley Area. This contest was a close 14-13 at the break, but unfortunately for Bishop Carroll it sure didn't stay that way.
Bellefonte's win lifted them to 6-2 while Bishop Carroll's loss dropped them down to 2-6. If Bellefonte want to win, Bellefonte will need to focus on stopping Bishop Carroll's junior Hunter Dumm, who caught passes for 53 yards and 2 touchdowns, and senior Jarrett Grove, who passed for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns. We'll see whether or not they are up to the challenge.
