After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Homestead, the KIPP Esperanza Eagles were happy to have found some success on Monday. They came out on top against Pescadero by a score of 53-40.
KIPP Esperanza found their leader in underclassman Eddie Whiteside, who scored 20 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Whiteside has scored at least 25% of KIPP Esperanza's points. Another player making a difference was Tuli Vea, who scored 11 points.
The win got KIPP Esperanza back to even at 1-1. As for Pescadero, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP Esperanza will take on KIPP San Jose Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pescadero, they will be playing at home against Pacific Bay Christian at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
