Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sumner). They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over East Bay on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Stingrays as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Ethan DeJesus made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sumner is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8 otherwise. DeJesus was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Winston Pennant was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Luke Parson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base.

Bloomingdale's record now sits at 14-3. As for Sumner, their record now sits at 7-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bloomingdale has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sumner struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bloomingdale took their victory against Sumner when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-4. Does Bloomingdale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sumner turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
