Floydada came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Sunray Bobcats. Considering the Whirlwinds have won 22 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Bella Perez, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Floydada's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sunray, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Floydada will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
