Three Rivers recap September 24, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Ben Shriver and Bryan Stinson connected against Northfield. The connection went for 76 yards, the longest such play in Three Rivers this season.
Tippecanoe Valley was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. The Vikings defeated the Norseman 34-32 earlier in the week.
Robbie Cole put up the best numbers in passing as Southwood fell to Rochester. He finished with a total of 13 completions for 174 yards and 3 touchdowns. Cole's favorite target this week was Jake Lloyd, who caught 5 passes for 62 yards.
Lucas Schilling provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Manchester defeated North Miami. He completed 6 passes for 101 yards and also ran for 101 yards. Schilling's key target this week was Owen Johnson, who caught 2 passes for 42 yards.
He was 13-21 with 2 interceptions.
Stinson was the best wideout in the league this week as Tippecanoe Valley beat Northfield. Stinson tallied 3 receptions for 146 yards. Brandon Webster helped Tippecanoe Valley's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 23 yards.
Tanner Hughes was the most successful running back in Three Rivers this week. He ran for 193 yards on 16 carries as Whitko defeated Brandon Baker / Tony Uggen's team. Teammate Thomas Owsley added to the ground attack by rushing for 41 yards.
The Vikings' Shriver and Tanner Andrews have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Shriver has thrown for 1,224 yards this season, while Andrews, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 28 catches for 631 yards. The Knights' Nathan Hollars leads the league in rushing yards with 624.
At the moment, the Wildcats are in second, while the Norseman are in fifth.
The Squires moved up to 273 from 300 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Manchester climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Warriors 35-0.
