The Eastern Greene Thunderbirds are taking a road trip to challenge the North Knox Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eastern Greene is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
Eastern Greene couldn't beat South Knox on Tuesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the third inning. The Thunderbirds fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 10-9.

Chaz Perry put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Saxton Pennycuff and Aiden Jones did some serious damage despite the final result: Pennycuff went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Jones went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Carter Bailey, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, North Knox suffered their closest defeat since May 24, 2025 on Monday. They fell just short of Bloomfield by a score of 8-6. Warriors fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Cardinals since Monday.
Carter Becher was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Reed Vanmeter also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Eastern Greene's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for North Knox, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Eastern Greene got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against North Knox by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbirds since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
