The Barr-Reeve Vikings won the last time they faced the Shoals Jug Rox, and things went their way on Friday too. Barr-Reeve rang in the new year with a 44-33 victory over Shoals.
Barr-Reeve was led to victory by Hannah Bledsoe and Ava B Carter. Bledsoe scored 14 points along with six rebounds, while B Carter scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bledsoe has scored at least 25% of Barr-Reeve's points. Emma Knepp was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Barr-Reeve's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Shoals, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Washington Catholic the next time they take the court. Shoals will host Washington Catholic at TBD on Saturday, while Barr-Reeve will head out to face them at TBD on Tuesday.
