Given Hilltop Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Bethel Christian Academy is ranked 600th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hilltop Christian relied on the efforts of Judah Lee, who scored 14 points along with six assists and three steals, and Caleb Manriquez, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Lee continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nehemiah Kassa, who scored four points along with three steals.
Southside Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Hilltop Christian, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Monday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Southside Christian have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 34.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Hilltop Christian struggles in that department as they've drained 39.2% of their threes per game this season.
