Moapa Valley has gone a perfect 4-0 against Mater Academy East Las Vegas recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Pirates will be playing at home against the Knights at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mater Academy East Las Vegas will be up against a hot Moapa Valley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Pirates put the hurt on Cheyenne with a sharp 22-3 win on Monday. The Pirates' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Saphire Holm looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March.
On the hitting side, Moapa Valley got a massive performance out of Claire Holm, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Holm is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emmy Cornwall, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They never let Democracy Prep Agassi Campus get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Tuesday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Blue Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Camryn Reyes made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Reyes was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Kamille Vargas was a standout: she scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Beyonce Felix was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3.
Mater Academy East Las Vegas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Democracy Prep Agassi Campus only posted an OBP of .333.
Moapa Valley's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Moapa Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .577. However, it's not like Mater Academy East Las Vegas struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
