Triumph Charter put the finishing touches on their 15th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Valley Oaks CES 78-18 at home. With Triumph Charter ahead 52-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Triumph Charter found their leader in underclassman Antonio Garcia III, who scored 20 points. Garcia III is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Zaragoza, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, CHAMPS scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 65-38 victory over Bert Corona Charter. CHAMPS has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 27 points or more this season.
Triumph Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for CHAMPS, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Everything came up roses for Triumph Charter against CHAMPS in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 66-23 win. Will Triumph Charter repeat their success, or does CHAMPS have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
