Given Captain Shreve's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Haughton is ranked 184th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jyrin Sowell, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ejoshua Mcdonald, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Captain Shreve pushed their record up to 17-3 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 21.89 points. As for Haughton, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
Captain Shreve will be playing in front of their home fans against Byrd at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Byrd is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Haughton, they will head out on the road to face off against Parkway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkway has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 777 points over their last 11 contests.
