Carrollton fell just short of Brown County by a score of 53-51. Carrollton has not had much luck with Brown County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Carrollton lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Lauren Flowers. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. Flowers scored a full 45.1% of Carrollton's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Harper Darr was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 6 rebounds.
Carrollton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Brown County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrollton will take on Seymour at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Seymour will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 596th, while Carrollton is ranked 250th). Brown County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. Liberty is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
