The Twentynine Palms Wildcats will face off against the Indio Rajahs at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Twentynine Palms' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last eight contests.
Twentynine Palms will bounce into Monday's match after beating Coachella Valley, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Mighty Arabs with a sharp 12-4 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Anisa Youso and Jenica Silvas made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Youso tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Silvas didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Youso scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Silvas fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave Youso a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Briana Johnson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Beltz, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
Twentynine Palms was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in ten consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Indio). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Yucca Valley an 18-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Rajahs in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won eight in a row.
Jaeda Diaz was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5. Carmen Gordillo was another key player, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3.
Twentynine Palms' win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for Indio, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Indio's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Twentynine Palms has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Indio, though, as they've been averaging only 2.6 strikeouts. Will Twentynine Palms keep running through batters, or will the Rajahs buck the trend?
Twentynine Palms might still be hurting after the 15-2 defeat they got from Indio in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
