Connersville is a perfect 10-0 against Rushville since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Spartans will square off against the Lions at 5:30 p.m. Connersville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Connersville barely beat Lawrenceburg the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans blew past the Tigers 10-0 on Monday. The Spartans have beaten the Tigers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Taylynn Selby made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Bre Brock and Jade Green did most of the damage at the plate: Brock went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles, while Green got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Green has posted over her last nine matches. Another player making a difference was Maggie Spurlock, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Connersville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrenceburg only posted a batting average of .176.
Meanwhile, Rushville fell victim to Shenandoah and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 10-0. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Connersville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rushville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.
Everything went Connersville's way against Rushville in their previous matchup back in April, as Connersville made off with a 23-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
