After flying high against North Attleborough on Monday, Franklin came back down to earth. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Attleboro Bombardiers on Wednesday. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Franklin was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Attleboro work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-17, 21-25, 25-21.
Makayla Kuykendall paced Franklin's offense, picking up 19 kills. Kuykendall got some help from Phoebe O'Connor and her 21 assists. Finally, Olivia Alberti and Charlotte Yeulenski kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked four attacks.
Leading Attleboro to victory were Sage Young and Sienna Quaglia. Young had 24 digs and five assists, while Quaglia had 11 digs and two aces. Young is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 21 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Audrey Farnell also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Attleboro, their record is now 6-1.
