Box Elder is 9-1 against Woods Cross since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:30 p.m. Box Elder is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.
Box Elder is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Bountiful, who was ranked tenth at the time (Box Elder was ranked seventh). The Bees fell just short of the RedHawks by a score of 2-1 last Friday. The match marked the Bees' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kennadie Blackmer spent all 8.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 18 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, Box Elder saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailee Hall, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. Hall is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Meanwhile, Woods Cross had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Northridge with a sharp 18-12 victory last Thursday. Considering the Wildcats have won three games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Bree Benson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off 12 hits. Benson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Audrey Ayala and Whitney Winegar did most of the damage at the plate: Ayala scored five runs and stole three bases while going 5-for-6, while Winegar got on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those five hits gave Ayala a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Moen, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Woods Cross kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Having lost for the first time this season, Box Elder fell to 12-1. As for Woods Cross, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-5.
Woods Cross' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Box Elder has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Woods Cross, though, as they've been averaging 10.2 hits. Given Box Elder's sizable advantage in that area, the Wildcats will need to find a way to close that gap.
Box Elder took their victory against Woods Cross in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-2 score. Will the Bees repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
