The Trinidad Miners scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Cotopaxi with a sharp 57-35 win. Trinidad might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matches by 22 points or more this season.
Trinidad can attribute much of their success to Monserrad Viera Flores, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Layla Maes , who scored 14 points.
The victory (which was Trinidad's third in a row) raised their record to 5-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.33 points. As for Cotopaxi, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinidad and Sangre de Cristo will face off at 1:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cotopaxi will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Centennial at 4:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
