Jarrell has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Austin Achieve Polar Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-14, which was the final score in Jarrell's tilt against Navarro on Friday. Jarrell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-7.
The losing side was boosted by Mason Dotson, who picked up 158 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Austin Achieve's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Lago Vista 66-0. While losing is never fun, Austin Achieve can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1160th, while Lago Vista is ranked 494th).
Jarrell has not been sharp this season, as they've lost six of their first seven contests, which leaves them at a 1-6 record this season. As for Austin Achieve, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for Jarrell against Austin Achieve in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 72-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jarrell since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
