Baseball Recap: Tulia Has No Trouble Against Childress

Tulia hadn't done well against Childress recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 16-8 margin over the Bobcats. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Gustavo Trevino made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on David Molina, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since March 3rd. Another player making a difference was Zach Trevino, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Tulia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Tulia's record is now 13-5-1. As for Childress, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8-1.
