The Desert Hills Thunder will head out to face off against the Dixie Flyers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Hills is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Desert Hills is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Pine View, who was ranked 19th at the time (Desert Hills was ranked second). Desert Hills never let Pine View get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Friday. The Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.
Andrew Wiley tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Haigen Reed was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Conner Weese also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Desert Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .543 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dixie, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Snow Canyon on Friday. The Flyers are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the sixth contest they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Carson Hunt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed over his last five matches. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Dixie's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't).
Hunt wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colton Hill, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Hill has become a key player for Dixie: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Another was Carter Turley, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Dixie's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-7. As for Desert Hills, their record now sits at 14-0.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Desert Hills has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .528. However, it's not like Dixie struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Desert Hills might still be hurting after the 17-6 defeat they got from Dixie when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Desert Hills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
