The Lathrop Malemutes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were the victim of a tough 87-62 defeat at the hands of West Anchorage. Lathrop has not had much luck with West Anchorage recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Lathrop lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luke Skinner. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Atticus Foley, who scored ten points along with five assists and five steals.
Lathrop's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for West Anchorage, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Lathrop will head out on the road to face off against Wasilla at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. West Anchorage will be home for the holidays to greet Nome-Beltz at 12:45 p.m. on Friday.
