The Kennedy Eagles were the 66-55 winner over the Woodland Regional Hawks when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Kennedy fell 61-50 to Woodland Regional on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kennedy has scored all season.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Terrance Morrison, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Morrison hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Aaron Sheehan was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Kennedy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodland Regional only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Woodland Regional got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dean Accetura out in front who scored 30 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Accetura is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Ethan Stepputtis, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and six assists.
Kennedy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Woodland Regional, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennedy will take on Crosby at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crosby has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 918 points over their last 12 games. As for Woodland Regional, they will be playing at home against Kaynor Tech on Monday.
