After three games on the road, Notre Dame Catholic is heading back home. They will take on the Joel Barlow Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Friday, Notre Dame Catholic came up short against Bethel and fell 55-48.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Madison Gibbs, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Gonzalez, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Joel Barlow's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to Pomperaug. Joel Barlow has struggled against Pomperaug recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Notre Dame Catholic bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Joel Barlow, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Notre Dame Catholic strolled past Joel Barlow in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 49-30. Will Notre Dame Catholic repeat their success, or does Joel Barlow have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
