Softball Recap: Austin Takes a Loss

Austin dropped their record down to 7-9 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Paoli Rams, falling 14-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 12-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2021.

Teagan Cutshall was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Jordan Richie, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.

As for Paoli, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-11. 14 seems to be a good number for they as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On Paoli's side, Kalyn Hannon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Jae Walker, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Austin has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 loss against Clarksville on the 13th. As for Paoli, they will head out to take on West Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Senators have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
