The Bennington Badgers won the last time they faced the Elkhorn Antlers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Bennington came out on top against Elkhorn by a score of 51-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bennington.
Bennington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Skylar Johnson, who scored 17 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Baca, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and six blocks.
Bennington's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Elkhorn, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bennington will take on Hastings at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hastings will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Bennington is ranked 29th). As for Elkhorn, they will be playing at home against Lincoln Northwest at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lincoln Northwest has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
