It was a good run, but the Oneida Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 54-44 to Pickett County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Oneida has scored all season.
Pickett County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lyric Parris, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Harris, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Oneida's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Pickett County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
Oneida will head out on the road to challenge the Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Alcoa's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 14 games. As for Pickett County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gordonsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Bobcats are ranked 94th).
