Ava Gilbert posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, she produced her best game of the campaign: she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Gilbert and Lakota West will head out to challenge Oak Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Firebirds will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 164 places lower in Ohio), but they're not letting that get them down.
