Basketball Game Preview: Twin Peaks Classical Academy Timberwolves vs. Peyton Panthers

The Twin Peaks Classical Academy Timberwolves will face off against the Peyton Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Wednesday, Twin Peaks Classical Academy earned a 51-40 victory over Golden View Classical Academy.

Kaleigh Van Pelt continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 steals. That's the most boards she has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernanda Puerta-Sarinara, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 15 points and four steals.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Peyton got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They claimed a resounding 45-11 win over Dolores Huerta Prep. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Peyton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.3 points per game. As for Twin Peaks Classical Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy took a serious blow against Peyton when the teams last played back in December of 2017, falling 48-13. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Twin Peaks Classical Academy was down 25-5.
