Meadowview Christian is 0-5 against Southern Prep Academy since September of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Meadowview Christian Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Southern Prep Academy Fighting Rangers at 7:00 p.m. Meadowview Christian is hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
After only six points in their last game, Meadowview Christian made sure to put some points up on the board against Trinity Christian Homeschool two weeks ago. Meadowview Christian walked away with a 52-42 victory over Trinity Christian Homeschool.
Meanwhile, Southern Prep Academy faced Evangel Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Southern Prep Academy breezed by Evangel Christian Academy at home to the tune of 58-20. The result was nothing new for Southern Prep Academy, who have now won six games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southern Prep Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jahziyah Anderson, who rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Mason, who threw for 97 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes.
Another reason for the win was Southern Prep Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Anderson and his two sacks.
Their wins bumped Meadowview Christian to 1-8 and Southern Prep Academy to 6-5.
Meadowview Christian was taken down by Southern Prep Academy 84-44 when the teams last played back in September. Can Meadowview Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
