It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Columbia Falls Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They secured a 21-16 W over Billings Central Catholic. The victory was familiar territory for Columbia Falls who now have six in a row.
It was another big night for Cody Schweikert, who threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jace Hill also helped out with an impressive 118 receiving yards.
When it comes to explaining why Billings Central Catholic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Xavier Brackenridge. Despite the final result, he rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown.
Columbia Falls' victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Billings Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 9-1.
Columbia Falls will head out on the road to face off against Corvallis at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Montana (Corvallis is ranked seventh, while Columbia Falls is ranked third). Billings Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
