The Vanguard College Prep Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 47-36 to Waterford. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for Mourer. Another player making a difference was Michael Muriithi, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Christian Gayle was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Santiago Hernandez, who scored seven points.
Vanguard College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Waterford, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Vanguard College Prep won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Turlock Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. Turlock Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Waterford will be home for the holidays to greet Sierra Ridge Academy/ROP at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sierra Ridge Academy/ROP is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
