5A Intermountain recap Sept. 26, 2012
Toby Webb and Kyle Bailey provided fans with a highlight when they connected against McNary. The connection went for 64 yards, the longest such play in 5A Intermountain this season.
Redmond extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Henley, 47-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Panthers.
Jace Johns made the biggest impact on defense this week as Mountain View bested the Celtics. The 6-foot-3 junior grabbed one sack.
John Carroll was the best wideout in the league this week as the Cougars beat McNary. Carroll tallied nine receptions for 152 yards. Kyle Shaver helped Mountain View's passing attack out by catching two balls for 34 yards.
Webb provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Mountain View topped Isaac Parker's team. He completed 16 passes for 229 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 12 yards.
Jonah Koski put up the best numbers through the air as Bend defeated Franklin. He finished with a total of three completions for 138 yards and two touchdowns. Koski's favorite target this week was Bailey, who caught one pass for 75 yards.
Kyler Ayers was the most productive running back in 5A Intermountain this week. In 35 carries, he ran for 186 yards as Brian Crum's team defeated the Celtics.
Mountain View's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Webb has thrown for 909 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Carroll has 29 catches for 505 yards. Ayers leads the league in rushing with 441 yards.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Redmond takes on Summit. Dan Elliott's team has allowed 49 points this season, while the Storm have given up 87.
The Cougars and McNary played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Cougars eventually emerging with a 23-20 victory. Webb in the win.
