Ambassador recap September 17, 2013
Ontario Christian was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to fourth in Ambassador. Earlier in the week, the Knights triumphed over Don Lugo 28-14.
Western Christian moved up to 708 from 788 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Fighting Lancers were able to make move up by topping The Webb Schools 56-26.
Bradley Mowbray provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Arrowhead Christian beat Riverside Christian. He completed 16 passes for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 81 yards. Mowbray's key target this week was Matthew Thompson, who caught 8 passes for 125 yards.
Thompson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Eagles bested Riverside Christian. Kyle Gober helped Arrowhead Christian's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 38 yards.
Christian Reyes threw for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 12-18 with 1 interceptions.
Sarkis Panossian was the best running back in Ambassador this week. He ran for 120 yards on 19 carries as Western Christian beat Mark Johnson's team. Andrew Henry also contributed to the rushing game with 110 yards on the ground.
Reyes put up the best numbers through the air as Ontario Christian defeated the Conquistadores. Reyes' favorite target this week was Derek Van Leeuwen, who caught 7 passes for 87 yards.
John Beck's team's Mowbray and Thompson have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Mowbray has thrown for 640 yards this season, while Thompson has 16 catches for 254 yards. Kevin Oberlander's team's Panossian leads the league in rushing yards with 327.
The Eagles took down Riverside Christian 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mowbray in the win.
