Victory Christian Academy extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Gavin Whitaker. The Victory Christian Academy Lions came out on top in a nail-biter against the Marquette Catholic Blazers on Tuesday, sneaking past 68-66 thanks in part to Whitaker, who shot 67% from the field en route to 30 points and six boards. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 24 points.

Marquette Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cole Dobre, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aleks Pecoski, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 19 points.

Victory Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23 points. As for Marquette Catholic, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-12.

Victory Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 79-61 win against Saint Thomas More Academy on the 27th. As for Marquette Catholic, they will face off against Kouts at 5:30 p.m. on March 5th. Marquette Catholic has given up an average of 53.4 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
