Baseball Recap: Warwick Has No Trouble Against Monticello

Warwick not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 3, 2024 (when they won 14-0). They blew past the Monticello Panthers 13-3. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Warwick got a great performance from Jack Gobinski as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Tristan Sasse was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Michael Molinelli also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Warwick's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Monticello, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warwick will host Goshen Central at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gladiators have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Monticello, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cornwall Central at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
