If the Lansing Lions were riding high off their 48-20 takedown of the Turner Golden Bears last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lansing's tough 54-34 defeat to West on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. Lansing lost against West in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 31-30 score last time.
West's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Imani McGlory, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which McGlory has scored at least 25% of West's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aveah Mcglory, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Lansing's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-2. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for West, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lansing will be home for the holidays to greet Piper on Friday. West will take on Junction City/St. Xavier at TBD on Thursday.
