AA Region 3 recap October 1, 2013
Dublin scaled the state rankings by moving to 232 from 281 this week, the biggest jump in AA Region 3. The Fighting Irish climbed the ranks as a result of besting Westside 37-14.
Josey fell to East Laurens 34-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Rashad Hughley was a passing and rushing force as Screven County bested Harlem. He completed 8 passes for 76 yards and also ran for 43 yards. Hughley's favorite target this week was Brian Alexander, who caught 3 passes for 53 yards.
HUNTER RIPPE and AUSTIN BURT gave the Bulldogs a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. RIPPE threw for 62 yards, while BURT ran for 91 yards. RIPPE also contributed to the rushing game with 33 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Gamecocks' Hughley and Desmond White have proven to be a lethal combination. Hughley has thrown for 591 yards this season, while White has 16 catches for 182 yards. BURT from Harlem leads the league in rushing with 614 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Harlem takes on second place Westside.
Dublin led AA Region 3 in scoring this week after putting up 37 points on the Patriots.
