Berrien Springs took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Wednesday. They skirted past the Cassopolis Rangers 3-2.
Micah Mcfarland was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mitch Nelson, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Berrien Springs and Cassopolis will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time Berrien Springs sees the field they'll take on Glenn at 12:00 p.m. on April 12. As for Cassopolis, their break will end when they face Lawrence at 4:00 p.m. on April 14.
