Seymour posted their closest victory yet this season on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Columbus East and snuck past 59-56. Given Seymour's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Columbus East is ranked 184th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Bedford North Lawrence had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.4 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They escaped with a win against Jennings County by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57.
Seymour has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Bedford North Lawrence, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Seymour lost to Bedford North Lawrence on the road by a decisive 54-37 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Seymour avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
