The Peabody Warhorses have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 37 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 77-38 victory over Evangel Christian Academy at home. Winning may never get old, but Peabody sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Peabody to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justin Burns, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 19 rebounds. The match was Burns' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Mathews, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Peabody pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points per game. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peabody will challenge Captain Shreve at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Captain Shreve will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Peabody is ranked sixth). As for Evangel Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bossier at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
