The Windsor Central Black Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Chenango Valley Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Windsor Central got the win against Whitney Point by a conclusive 10-4.
The team relied heavily on Berkley Ingram, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Emily Flagg, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Chenango Valley owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Seton Catholic Central.
The result came thanks to Natalie Tyler's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Abby Cron was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Cashman, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Windsor Central's record is now 7-10. As for Chenango Valley, their record now sits at 5-7.
Windsor Central's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Black Knights have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Chenango Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 0.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Windsor Central continue to outrun the ball?
Windsor Central suffered a grim 13-5 defeat to Chenango Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Black Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
