This season hasn't been kind to the Smithfield-Selma Spartans, who are still winless after their 13th game. They took a serious blow against C.B. Aycock on Friday, falling 52-7. Smithfield-Selma has not had much luck with C.B. Aycock recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead C.B. Aycock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bree Jones, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Keytah Kermode, who scored 11 points.
Smithfield-Selma's loss was their 15th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-13. As for C.B. Aycock, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Smithfield-Selma will head out on the road to take on East Wake at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. East Wake has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 24. As for C.B. Aycock, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Southern Wayne at 6:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Nevaeh Hines-Bass and Audrey Teasley.
