After flying high against the Murray Tigers last Saturday, the Montgomery Bell Academy Big Red came back down to earth. Montgomery Bell Academy took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of McCallie. The contest was a 28-28 toss-up at halftime, but Montgomery Bell Academy was outscored by McCallie in the second.
McCallie's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kenneth Chime, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Chime is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Kaleb Gallman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Montgomery Bell Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for McCallie, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Montgomery Bell Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cullman at 4:15 p.m. on December 28th. McCallie and Signal Mountain will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
