The Campbellsville Eagles pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 64-57 to Monroe County. While losing is never fun, Campbellsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Monroe County is ranked 97th).
Despite the loss, Campbellsville still got an impressive performance from Deondre Weathers, who scored 18 points. Keondre Weathers was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Campbellsville's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Monroe County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Campbellsville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Meade County at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. As for Monroe County, they will be playing at home against Foundation Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
