Baseball Recap: Ocean Lakes' Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ocean Lakes waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Green Run Stallions get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Dolphins have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ocean Lakes got a great performance from Aiden Skalski as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Skalski has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Ryan Gocio was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ben Menenses, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Ocean Lakes pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Green Run, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-12.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Ocean Lakes is set to square off against their familiar foe First Colonial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dolphins 3.3, the Patriots 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Green Run will challenge rival Kellam at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
